Fastpasses

For new Disney goers, the FP+ system can be very confusing. With the new My Disney Experience (MDE) app/website, guests can choose 3 fastpasses a day for the park they choose to go to during their trip. If you are staying at a Disney resort- you can choose your fastpasses 60 days before your trip. If you are staying off-site, then you can choose your fastpasses 30 days before your trip.

When it is time to choose your fastpasses, you go to the fastpass+ section of MDE and choose the new fastpasses button. There, you will select your party and the first day you go to a park on your trip and the park you are going to. Then it will bring you to another page that allows you to choose which rides you want. For Hollywood Studios and Epcot, there are tiers (which are terrible planning wise!). For example, in Hollywood Studios you can only pick one FP+ in a tier one (ex: Tower of Terror), and then two from the second tier. For the rest of the parks, there are no tiers so you can select whichever rides you want.

After you select your rides, the MDE will give you 4 options to choose from... DO NOT STRESS if the times are not what you want! Just choose an option that is closest to what you want and then it will bring you to another page where you can change/modify the times. TIP: If you want a Space Mountain FP at 10am but MDE gave you Peter Pan's Flight at 10:10am, you will have to change Peter Pan first so that the time slot can open up to change your Space Mountain.

Touring Tip: Try not to get FP+ in the first hour of park openings if you plan to rope drop. The first hour is when the major rides have the shortest wait times.
